Out soon!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A day earlier he had written that the directory was \u201cnearing over 10,000 curated listings\u201d and that \u201cover 130,000 Grok Bots [had] visited the directory.\u201d On November 7 he followed up that a weekly analysis was \u201con schedule to break past 10,000 curated Grok Bots in the GrokBot.Rocks directory by Monday.\u201d xAI\u2019s own documentation has pointed people toward a marketplace; one November 7 post noted that GrokBot.Rocks \u201clists 9,500+ community-built Grok Bots,\u201d which matches the 9,587 figure on Roemmele\u2019s page within ordinary rounding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The page itself, on ReadMultiplex, describes GrokBot.Rocks as Roemmele\u2019s independent directory. It says it is not owned, affiliated with or endorsed by SpaceXAI, the name it uses for the company formerly known as xAI. That disclaimer is important: listing a bot there is not the same as xAI shipping it, reviewing it or standing behind it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">i10x could not independently confirm the unnamed company\u2019s identity or that the 300-bot package had gone live by November 8. The responsible reading is that Roemmele, who runs the directory, announced an agreement. The bots are promised, not yet shown as a labeled collection in public reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Background: a two-week-old catalog for a new kind of agent<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i10x.ai\/news\/product\/grok\">Grok<\/a> Bots are persistent agents that run on xAI\u2019s stack. i10x has already covered two later-stage problems with that product: teams of bots that start to look like a <a href=\"https:\/\/i10x.ai\/news\/grok-bot-agent-teams-chief-of-staff\">chief-of-staff layer<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/i10x.ai\/news\/grok-bot-token-limits-agent-governance\">token limits<\/a> that force creators to think about governance rather than unbounded autonomy. He launched the directory around October 28, 2026. By November 7, according to his own updated page, it held 9,587 public Grok Bots in 32 categories. He has published 36 bots there himself. That number is worth stating clearly, because some social posts blurred it with the \u201cover 300\u201d corporate figure. The 36 are his. The 300 are, if his announcement holds, a company\u2019s internal library that has not yet been labeled in public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A directory of this size is also a distribution channel. If a large company does release hundreds of production bots in cooperating groups, GrokBot.Rocks becomes the only advertised home for that drop. That is a stronger claim than \u201cwe listed some community projects.\u201d It is also, until the files appear, a claim that rests on one person\u2019s post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How people are already using Grok Bots<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The corporate drop is not the only activity around the directory. Creators have spent the past two weeks posting what persistent Grok Bots look like when they stay on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On October 25, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/monokern\/status\/2114390462303723930\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">monokern<\/a> wrote that a television was now running \u201ca full Grok Bot RESEARCH team\u201d and posted a longer note describing a living-room setup in which agents kept working through research tasks. <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GeriGam2026\/status\/2117042944268022214\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GeriGam<\/a> shared a video of Grok Bots being used for research and concept work. <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hydra_2017\/status\/2116908760581161432\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hydra<\/a> described a bot that obtained a domain and put up a website. Claire Vo\u2019s informal coding comparison, relayed by <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JayHamilton0\/status\/2115550692584636860\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jay Hamilton<\/a>, put a Grok Bot first on at least one of the tasks she tried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">None of those demos is the unnamed company\u2019s internal set.
