Visual guide · August 2026
The best AI lesson plan generators in 2026 are not a single winner. They are US K-12 all-rounders, live interactive slides, and differentiation engines sitting on the same keyword. This page is a visual investigation: the live i10X category, a three-lane job map, and homepage captures from 2026-08-28. Browse the directory on i10X AI lesson plan generator or start in one i10X workspace. Same series: AI meeting assistants, diagram generators.
Start for US K-12 breadth: MagicSchool when you want one login for plans plus the rest of the teacher toolkit. Wayground if quizzes and lessons already live in that school account (the Quizizz rebrand).
Start for live slides: Curipod when the plan has to run as polls, drawings, and teacher-paced slides, not a document in a binder.
Start for differentiation depth: Eduaide on this eight. Diffit appears on the routing map as the reading-level peer. Confirm both on your district list.
Screens captured 2026-08-28. FERPA and COPPA lines below are vendor claims to verify with your district. This is not legal advice. Plans move.

Three jobs (look at this before logos)
Searchers mix three products: a US K-12 planning suite (MagicSchool, Wayground, LessonPlans AI, Flint), an interactive delivery layer (Curipod, Slidesgo), and a differentiation engine (Eduaide, Monsha; Diffit on the map). i10X is the prompt-to-plan workspace in Figure 1 when you want a daily plan, a substitute packet, and a weekly unit from one brief.
A plan that never leaves Google Docs is not the same product as a lesson students join with a PIN. Pick the lane that matches tomorrow’s period, then check whether the vendor’s privacy page matches what your district will sign.
If the recap of the PLC is the bottleneck, see AI meeting assistants. If you need a visual of the unit, see AI diagram generators.
How we ranked
- Job lane: K-12 all-rounder, live slides, or differentiation. Read from the live homepage or i10X listing, not a generic “ChatGPT lesson plan” post.
- Standards: can you pass a code in, and do you still have to check the alignment yourself? You do.
- Classroom delivery: document, slides, or live session.
- Free-tier honesty: CTA on the page we opened. No invented district prices.
- Privacy language: FERPA / COPPA / DPA only as vendor claims. District legal must verify. Not legal advice.
- Directory fit: ZeroGPT (detector) and Resemble (voice) sit on the same i10X category page. They are not lesson planners. They are out.
We did not grade your students. Accuracy of standards, reading level, and cultural fit is the week-one test you run, not a score we invented.
FERPA, COPPA, and what that sentence is worth
Several vendors on this list market FERPA and COPPA alignment. MagicSchool’s homepage in Figure 3 says “district-aligned AI.” Curipod’s i10X listing says FERPA / COPPA and no student accounts. Treat every one of those lines as a claim to verify: privacy policy, DPA, whether student work is used to train models, and whether the free teacher login is the same product your district would sign. The amended COPPA rule’s 2026 compliance date is a procurement fact, not a reason to trust a homepage badge. This section is not legal advice. Ask your district.

i10X listing: MagicSchool Lesson Plan Generator. The listing describes standards-aligned, customizable plans inside the wider MagicSchool set. FERPA / COPPA / SOC 2 appear in third-party 2026 roundups as vendor-stated posture. Confirm on MagicSchool’s trust pages and with your district. magicschool.ai.
Skip if: you only need a live poll lesson this period and you will not open 80 other tools.
2) Curipod: best live slides and polls
i10X listing: Curipod (teacher-paced interactive slides, polls, drawings, word clouds, rubric-aligned feedback; listing also states FERPA / COPPA and no student accounts). That last sentence is a vendor claim. Verify. The listing’s test-score range is marketing. We did not reproduce it as a finding. curipod.com.
Skip if: you need a substitute packet on paper, not a live session.
3) Wayground: best if the school already quizzes there
i10X listing: Wayground AI Lesson Plan Generator. Wayground is the Quizizz rebrand in 2026 coverage. The listing describes standards-aligned plans with objectives, materials, assessments, PDF or DOC export, and a “trusted in 90% of U.S. schools” line. Treat the 90% figure as vendor language on the card, not a census we ran. wayground.com.
If students already know the join code from quizzes, a plan in that habit beats a Word doc they will never open. Check rostering before you paste names.
Skip if: your school does not already live in that ecosystem and you only need a one-off plan.
4) LessonPlans AI: best single-purpose plan generator
i10X listing: LessonPlans AI. Positioning is a dedicated planner: topic and grade in, activities and standards-aligned assessments out, exportable. Use it when you do not want an 80-tool dashboard. Confirm the live free cap yourself.
They win when MagicSchool’s menu is why you never finish a draft. Generate one 45-minute lesson and see whether you still open a second tool for the exit ticket.
Skip if: you need live student devices in the same product as the plan.
5) Slidesgo: best slides-native plans
i10X listing: AI Lesson Plan Generator (Slidesgo). Inputs listed: grade Pre-K to university, subject, topic, remote / in-person / hybrid, 20+ languages. Output aimed at Google Slides and PowerPoint. That is a delivery-lane pick, closer to Curipod than to a Word-only planner.
If class already runs from a deck, generating the plan as slides removes a copy-paste step. It does not replace live polls. Pair with Curipod only if you will actually run both.
Skip if: your admin wants a narrative plan in the district template, not a deck.
6) Monsha: best when sources are files, YouTube, or Drive
i10X listing: Monsha Lesson Plan Generator (curriculum-aligned plans plus worksheets, quizzes, presentations, rubrics; sources include files, YouTube, Google Drive; listing also cites 60+ languages and Bloom’s Taxonomy; exports to Google Workspace and PDF). Differentiation lane, with source-grounding as the reason to open it instead of a blank prompt.
Week-one test: feed a real article you already teach, then ask for two reading levels. If the facts drift from the source, the tool failed. Keep the source open while you edit.
Skip if: you have no source text and you only need a 15-minute do-now.
7) Eduaide: best directory pick for resource types and one-click levels
i10X listing: Eduaide (110+ resource types on the listing: plans, assessments, graphic organizers, games; one-click differentiation; standards; research-based templates). Figure 2 routes “differentiation depth” to Eduaide or Diffit. Diffit is not in this eight because it is not on the assigned i10X shortlist. If reading level is the whole job, still look at Diffit on your own.
One-click levels are only useful if you would hand the support version to a student without rewriting it. Generate both and read them aloud.
Skip if: you need a live class session more than a packet of organizers.
8) Flint K12: best when Common Core, NGSS, or TEKS must be on the export
i10X listing: Flint K12 (grade, subject, teaching style; activities and assessments; listing names Common Core, NGSS, TEKS; exports to Google Drive, Word, print, clipboard). Use it as a standards-print pick. You still check that the cited code matches the activity.
Print the standard from your state site next to the generated objective. If they do not match, the export is a first draft, not evidence for an observation.
Skip if: you already get usable plans from MagicSchool and you will not add another login.

What we left out
- ZeroGPT: on the i10X lesson-plan category as a detector. Wrong job.
- Resemble AI: on the same page as voice cloning and deepfake detection. Wrong job.
- CoGrader: grading and feedback, not planning.
- Diffit: on Figure 2 for differentiation. Strong peer. Not one of the eight assigned directory tools.
- General chatbots: useful drafts. They are not a FERPA-shaped classroom product until your district says so.
One-week pilot
- Pick two tools from different lanes in Figure 2 (one all-rounder, one live or levels tool).
- Plan the same lesson: one standard, one 45-minute period, your real class mix.
- Score 1-5: standards match you can defend, timing, materials you actually have, differentiation you would use.
- Teach it. If you rewrite more than half, the tool failed for you.
- Ask whoever handles student data whether the free teacher login is allowed. If they say no, stop.
- Kill the loser. Do not keep two planners that disagree on the objective.

What is the best free AI lesson plan generator?
MagicSchool and Curipod show free sign-up on the homepages we captured. Free is not a district license. Verify student-data rules before a class uses it.
Are these FERPA and COPPA compliant?
Vendors claim alignment. Compliance is a contract, a DPA, and a configuration, not a badge. Not legal advice.
Can I paste a ChatGPT plan into the gradebook?
You can draft there. You still check standards, facts, and whether student names belong in that chat.
Where can I compare them side by side?
Vendor trials, plus
the i10X lesson plan category.
For a standards-in, plan-out pass:
i10X.
